Now in its 5th iteration, the ASICS Magic Speed is turning the clocks back a bit, and blurring the lines between race-day shoes and performance trainers. With a significantly lower stack height that evokes version 3 more than version 4, the Magic Speed 5 sheds its excess weight and puts its emphasis back on speed, ground connection, and cornering at pace.
It takes some super shoe cues from its successful METASPEED Edge Tokyo cousin, with a full-length top layer of their lightest, springiest FF LEAP superfoam. This pairs with a bottom layer of inherently stable, bouncy FF BLAST PLUS foam. Between these layers, ASICS gives us a reconfigured carbon plate, with each element working together to provide a confident, aggressive, and snappy underfoot feel.
On the outsole, premium ASICSGRIP rubber provides all the time-tested traction you need for a variety of weekly miles, uptempo training, and track days. Across the upper, snug and breathable engineered mesh works together with notched racing laces to give you a lightweight, secure, race-ready wrap.
As a whole, ASICS worked a magic trick and upgraded the 5 to be a leaner, meaner, lightweight racer that's ready to cast a spell on your competition.
