With the Torin 9 running shoe, Altra gives us top-to-bottom upgrades to this classic daily trainer for your routine miles and long days on your feet. Giving you a softer and bouncier ride than the previous EGO MAX, we get the debut use of P35X midsole foam. Its dual-density setup, with a cushiony core underfoot and a composed perimeter rim, means you enjoy a premium step-in feel that stays balanced and steady as you fatigue late in runs.
Adding to the softer and bouncier experience, its Vibram XS Run AW rubber outsole is the first of its kind. Long trusted and proven on trails, Vibram specially formulated this durable compound for roads, providing 20% better traction than the previous Torin 8.
Completing the package, its breathable mesh upper promises a smoother, more comfortable collar and heel shape. You'll also enjoy a more adaptable lockdown fit with the addition of two ghillie lace loops to accommodate different foot types.
While the overall stack height is 2 mm lower than before for that sweet-spot versatility, classic fans can rest easy that it maintains its signature zero-drop platform and naturally roomy toe box fit.
