In version 8, the Challenger adds slightly more foam underfoot than previous models and uses a familiar CMEVA midsole to deliver the kind of soft, balanced ride HOKA is known for.
The outsole has been reworked with 4mm lugs in a new multi-directional pattern. Combined with Durabrasion Rubber, it offers improved traction on dirt and better durability for pavement.
The upper keeps things simple: lightweight engineered mesh made from recycled materials, with a slightly more secure fit. A plush collar adds comfort around the ankle, and a reinforced toe cap provides extra durability and minor protection on uneven paths.
For runners who split time between pavement and trail, the HOKA Challenger 8 remains a solid option. It s not overly specialized in any one area, but that s exactly what makes it so adaptable.
