What's New
Utilizing Nike's latest and greatest running technologies, this fan-favorite model has been completely revamped for a more modern ride. The Nike Zoom Pegasus 37 now features a full-length React foam midsole for an underfoot feel that is both softer and more lively than previous versions. Meanwhile, the updated forefoot airbag is thicker and positioned closer to the foot for a springy toe-off that makes running faster feel easier. Finally, the engineered mesh upper is built with specific areas of breathability and support. This allowed the designers to remove the Flywire cables found in the previous version for a more streamlined look and feel.
The Bottom Line
With lighter, softer, and more responsive cushioning, it's no wonder that our testers loved the changes made to the Nike Zoom Pegasus 37. The full React foam midsole adds comfort to your run while the updated Zoom Air Unit is twice the size of the previous version, providing impact absorption that propels you forward with every stride. The new mesh upper offers a form-fitting design that flexes with the foot's natural movements, though one of our testers found that the lack of stretch in the laces required some tweaking to dial in the perfect fit. Overall, whether you're going for a mile jog or training for a marathon, the new Nike Zoom Pegasus 37 offers the bouncy ride, reliable cushioning, and durability you need for all of your runs.

Our In-Depth Look
Shoe Softness i
The new Pegasus 37 gets rid of the Cushlon foam that was used in so many models before it, replacing it with full-length React foam and a larger forefoot Zoom Air unit. These changes give the Pegasus 37 an amazingly soft feel without adding bulk or weight.
Kaitlin: "For a lower profile shoe, it is very plush without feeling unstable. The step-in feel was similar to an ASICS Nimbus or Kayano, and the softness translates to the run as well."
Becky: "The React foam feels softer than the previous version. There is also more Zoom Air in the forefoot, which makes the ride plusher overall."

Ride/Energy Return i
In addition to the highly responsive React foam, the Pegasus 37 features updated Zoom Air Units that are around twice the thickness of the units used in the Pegasus 36. This new combination gives the shoe a bouncy feel that drives the runner forward with every step.
Kaitlin: "The new Pegasus 37 is very light and springy. The cushioning never felt like it was stealing energy from me. Instead, it helped propel me forward."
Becky: "This update to the Pegasus gives it a more responsive ride than previous versions. I enjoyed how bouncy it felt while still being very comfortable to run in."

Underfoot Protection i
Although the Pegasus 37 offers plenty of cushioning for long runs or full days on your feet, it does so without feeling unstable or positioning the runner high off the ground.
Kaitlin: "I think the increase in cushioning helped absorb the impact of the road. Normally, I do feel a little tenderness in my knees after long runs with previous versions, but this didn't happen in the Pegasus 37."
Becky: "These shoes provide enough cushioning for any distance on the road without feeling like you're too high off the ground or unstable."

Underfoot Flexibility i
The segmented Air unit works with the shoe's outsole grooves to allow the Pegasus 37 to flex with the natural movement of your foot. This flexibility gives the Pegasus 37 a smooth ride that never feels sloppy or stiff.
Kaitlin: "This shoe's outsole did not inhibit my gait, but it provided a fluid forward motion and helped keep me moving."
Becky: "I loved how naturally the Pegasus 37s flexed with my feet. And it was great that the shoes offered that flexibility without compromising underfoot protection."

Upper Feel i
The new mesh upper is fully engineered with stretch and support zones that match the foot's natural movements. This allowed Nike to remove the Flywire cables found in previous versions while maintaining a comfortable and secure fit.
Becky: "The upper is relatively structured but not constricting. It held my foot comfortably in place at any pace."
Kaitlin: "I liked the lightweight and breathable feel of the mesh upper. The new design felt very secure, but I wish that the laces provided a bit of extra stretch. When laced up tight, the upper could feel a little too snug for my liking."
Individual Thoughts

The Pegasus has always been the perfect daily trainer for me, but version 37 is my favorite yet. The React foam gives it a bouncier ride and a more cushioned experience overall. Meanwhile, the upper is crafted with the perfect balance of breathability and performance.

I thought the biggest difference in this update was the softer underfoot feel, which could make or break the shoe depending on your preference. I personally loved the softness of the Pegasus 37. It felt lightweight but had enough protection for daily training. Where some other highly cushioned shoes can feel heavy and slow (think older versions of the Brooks Glycerin), this was not the case for the Pegasus 37. It was very comfortable but still felt responsive. I hope future versions maintain this underfoot feel! Although I did notice a slightly narrower fit in the forefoot, I would still recommend staying with your normal size.
